Premium-Lasik
- preparation of the corneal flap with the FEMTO second laser ("blade-less" LASIK).
- treatment even for thinner corneas and highly defective vision (up to approximately -10 to +4)
- more security and greater cutting precision.
- individual, personalized wavefront treatment (aberrometer/wavefront technology) with iris recognition.
The Femto-LASIK is a combination of the established Excimer-Laser with the new femtosecond laser technology: when preparing the corneal flap, a second laser is employed rather than the mechanical microkeratome. This femtosecond laser allows the preparation of very thin and highly precise corneal flaps. This makes LASIK operations possible even with low corneal tissue thickness and severe short-sightedness or far-sightedness. Since the introduction of the Intralase femtosecond laser in the USA in 2001, more than 500,000 patients worldwide have already been operated on using this "blade-less" LASIK.
The femtosecond laser is already being used in around 15% LASIK-operations Dr. Fischer employs the latest femtosecond laser from Intralase with 60 kHz. This allows the cutting time to be reduced to a minimum.
