Dr. Fischer uses the Bausch & Lomb Excimer™-Laser 217z100, the latest-generation Excimer Laser and the first laser in the world to feature wavefront technology.

In contract to conventional lasers, the Excimer™-Laser 217z100 employs a state-of-the-art feedback mechanism to ensure that each impulse precisely removes a minuscule amount of corneal tissue, approximately 1/500th of the thickness of a human hair.

The laser's cool, ultraviolet light models the cornea very gently.

The innovative "Flying Spot" technology is extremely precise and creates a perfectly smooth corneal surface. A narrow beam only 0.5 mm wide touches the eye at the speed of light in a pattern that allows the eye to recover between impulses. The laser's special ergonomic design means that the patient remains absolutely relaxed throughout the procedure.
