Short-Sightedness (myopia)

What is myopia?

For short-sighted people, objects become less clear the further they are away. The eye is too long and the focus of light falls on a plane in front of the retina instead of on it. To be able to see sharply, the focus must be shifted backwards by way of artificial concave lenses (glasses, contact lenses). The corrective value for this condition is measured in negative diopters, for example: -3.0 dpt.
